As a community and affordable housing provider delivering housing and homelessness services across Victoria, we believe that everyone should have access to a home, no matter the circumstances they find themselves in.

For 45 years, we’ve worked with government, public and private partners to mobilise funding and collaborate for greater housing and homelessness solutions for a better future.

 

With a commitment to placing clients at the core of our decision making, we provide support programs that connect with people’s unique needs and strengthen their knowledge, abilities and capacity to thrive.

We’re investing in housing and homelessness solutions for a better future.

We believe everyone should be able to access a home no matter what circumstances they find themselves in. Our three impact areas of housing and support, partnerships and capacity for impact define how we can deliver housing and support differently.

What we do

 

We invest in housing and homelessness solutions for better futures. In 2022-23 across the state, we:

  • delivered 28 housing and homelessness support programs
  • had 7361 people come through our doors requesting our support
  • of those 2472 were accessing our services for the first time
  • are building 173 homes for people on the VHR.

We also…

 

  • had over 50,000 calls come through since January 2023
  • upgraded 160 homes with solar power
  • had 163% in tenancy plus referrals
  • managed 2102 homes.

Happy, established and housed. The impact of housing for women.

Following relationship breakdowns and declining health Susan found herself in a poor financial situation, after having to leave work.  She experienced homelessness for several years. Through support from Haven Home Safe Susan is now happy, established and housed in her own home.

Housing is essential to truly address violence against women. 

If policy makers are serious about addressing violence against women, then the lack of housing options also needs to be addressed. Policy makers cannot keep their ‘heads in the sand’ while victims in crisis bounce from one service to another, each with the same devastating offering: “I’m so sorry but this is all we can do.” It is not good enough.
