If you need support after hours, on weekends or public holidays please call Victoria’s statewide after-hours service (St Kilda Crisis Centre) – 1800 825 955. 

Currently, we can only deliver the supports we are contracted to provide in each region. If we are unable to deliver support within your region, we will try our best to provide you with the details for your local services.

Client Care programs

Also known as Intake and Assessment Planning (IAP). Through an IAP appointment we will learn more about you and your housing needs so we can advise what accommodation options are available. IAP might be able to help you if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Do not have a safe place to stay
  • Are at risk of losing your home
  • Need housing support.

If you’re in financial crisis and need one-off, short-term support, the Emergency Relief Program might be able to help. Depending on your situation, support may include food, clothing, medical costs, part-payment of bills, or transport costs.

Support programs

If you are experiencing a personal or financial crisis and you need help to maintain your existing private rental property or to begin a private rental lease you might be able to access this one-off payment to help. You must already have a lease agreement for your private rental property.

If you are over the age of 18 and experiencing some issues that are making it difficult to find and maintain a rental property you might be eligible for a referral into this program. HCC can help you:

  • Figure out and work on things that may be stopping you from finding housing
  • Learn how to look for rental properties
  • Get tips on filling out rental applications
  • Understand what to do and how to prepare for rental inspections.

This is a mobile, street-based service and a safe space where people experiencing rough sleeping can connect with our Homeless Assertive Outreach Response team.

This program provides short-term support to people who experience barriers finding a home and need help accessing other services to find and keep a long-term rental.

Assists people aged 50 or over with complex needs who require ongoing support to live independently in private rental, public or social housing.

Eligible clients are supported to prepare and submit private rental applications; attend rental inspections or access appropriate support needed to begin and sustain their private-rental tenancy.

Sidney Myer Haven (SMH) is a residential complex of 19 two-bedroom units in Bendigo. SMH offers stable, affordable housing for individuals in crisis and a wrap-around support model for its residents called ‘Shared Futures.’

Tenancy

Haven Home Safe delivers tenancy and property management for clients already living in social and affordable housing. All housing allocations are made through the Victorian Housing Register (VHR). You can learn more about the VHR here.
