PRAP delivers one-off financial assistance payments to help people who are temporarily unable to meet their rental costs.
How can PRAP help?
PRAP can assist people who are experiencing a personal or financial crisis by tailoring an assistance package to help maintain an existing private rental.
Or
Assist people entering the private rental market (who have a lease agreement) from homelessness or social housing by tailoring a package to help with the costs involved in moving into a new house.
PRAP is for people who have a current lease agreement and:
– are in the Mildura, Swan Hill, Buloke or Loddon ShiresÂ
– are experiencing a personal or financial crisis which means they cannot pay rent, begin a tenancy or are at risk of losing their property due to rental arrears
– can usually meet the financial costs of the property
– rent is less than 55% of their income
– have a consistent income (includes Centrelink payments)
– meet income requirements (discussed in your appointment).
What to bring to a PRAP appointment
Please bring ALL of the following documents to the PRAP appointment to help speed up the assessment (and if approved, payment) process.Â
 – 2 forms of ID (driver’s license, medicare card, passport, birth certificate, bill).
 – Proof of income covering 4 pay-cycles (this can include Centrelink payments).
 – Lease agreement evidence and rental ledger (your real estate agent can provide this).
 – The last 12 weeks of current bank transactions with a current balance.
 – Notice to vacate (if applicable).
