Developing a client voice framework
Putting our clients at heart of everything that we do is core to ensuring we provide you with high quality services. We recognise that if we are to have a greater impact, we need to use your voice to shape how we work and deliver our services.
The Haven Home Safe Client Voice Framework will guide us to ensure that we are meaningfully engaging and including our clients when making decisions. It will outline how and when we engage with you and how we use your voice to improve the services we provide to you.
The draft framework is currently being finalised and we hope to be able to share the final product in the coming months.
Thank you to everyone who has already provided input and are helping us to shape this important document.
Neighbours Day
Neighbors Day is coming up Sunday 31st March. This day provides an opportunity to increase social connection in your local area.
Do you have an amazing neighbour? We want to hear about them?
Nominations close Friday 5th April.
Neighbours Every Day suggest these 5 tips to being neighbourly
- Start with a smile – Make it a habit to flash a friendly smile or say hello.
- The initial chat – Strike up a conversation you might start with a compliment, question or comment about a common topic such as the weather.
- Follow up – Next time you catch each other, follow up on what you spoke about last time, this shows your interest and people will generally appreciate feeling listened to.
- Kind gestures – Kind gestures are the ideal way to build positive connections, so consider what you might be able to offer e.g. bring in their bins, water their garden, or share surplus produce.
- Host an event – Organise a Neighbour Day get together or engage in a neighbourly action – think of something your neighbours might enjoy e.g. BBQ, morning tea, some friendly games, or perhaps leave a thoughtful note.

New Glass Bin for Mildura
Mildura Residents with access to kerbside recycling and rubbish collection can expect to receive their new 120L purple-lidded glass recycling bin in April 2024.
The introduction of the new glass-only recycling service is a mandatory requirement under state government legislation and will ensure more items are being reused for other means.
Mildura Rural City Council will deliver the new bins to eligible households in April 2024, along with an information pack containing a free A-Z guide that will help residents sort their waste from July 2024.
The new 120L glass bin will be emptied once a month. More information about how to use the new purple bin for glass recycling will be included when bins arrive. Until then, continue using the current three-bin system as normal.
