Local community housing provider Haven Home Safe has proudly taken handover of 11 brand-new homes in Mildura, marking an important milestone in a two-stage development that will ultimately deliver 22 social housing homes.
Constructed by Mildura builders, Mildura Homes, the newly completed stage-one of the development includes three one-bedroom, seven two-bedroom, and one three-bedroom dwellings. Each home has been designed with sustainability and comfort in mind, featuring rooftop solar, rainwater tanks, induction stovetops, all-electric appliances, and a minimum 7-star NatHERS energy efficiency rating. Every property also includes a secure garage.
The community housing project has been made possible through $5.8 million in funding from the Victorian Government’s Big Housing Build.
Haven Home Safe Chief Business Services Officer, Jacqualyn Turfrey, and Senior Project Manager, Erin Connolly, joined Mildura Homes Director, Greg Barila, Project Manager, Nik Wade, and project superintendent, Jacob Slimmon, on site to celebrate the handover.
