Location is key in delivering community connectedness for new Ballarat homes

Haven Home Safe continues to invest in regional Victoria, delivering five brand-new homes in Ballarat to help people access safe and secure social housing.

With Homes Victoria contributing $1.55 million through the Big Housing Build, these beautiful, spacious, energy-efficient homes were built by local builders G.J. Gardner Homes Ballarat.

The development features:

  • Four one-bedroom and one three-bedroom homes
  • 7-star NatHERS energy efficiency rating
  • All-electric appliances & heat pump hot water services
  • Water tanks for sustainability

There are so many things to love about this development, including the location which delivers direct community connectedness with a supermarket, shops, schools, public transport and other amenities all accessible within 5 minutes or less from resident’s front doors.

To celebrate the completion of the homes, Ballarat MP Michaela Settle, Haven Home Safe Board Chair Robert Camm and CEO Trudi Ray were invited to view and tour the homes. It was a pleasure to see these homes (ahead of renters moving in) and to highlight the life-changing opportunity they present.

When people have a safe and secure place to live, they have the chance to focus on other areas of their lives that deliver increased social, emotional and physical health outcomes.

Following the tour Haven Home Safe CEO Trudi Ray said: “We are committed to delivering high-quality housing in regional centres and will continue to advocate for increased supply of well-thought-out social and affordable housing.”

Board Chair Robert Camm added: “These properties are a testament to our commitment to building homes that support and sustain people’s wellbeing within their community.”

By investing in regional housing, Haven Home Safe continues to create sustainable communities where people can thrive.
