COVID-safe plan for SDA

In response to current Care facilities Directions and other directions from authorities, the SDA service levels apply:

  • Visitor restrictions are in place in accordance with the latest Care Facilities Directions. More information can be found here
  • Meetings and tenancy management services are conducted in person or remotely to best meet the needs of the person and their family
  • Property maintenance services are in place under standard infection control measures
  • Inspections and moves to SDA by new residents may take place under standard infection control measures – note some restrictions may apply as required by authorities
  • We require the SIL Provider to notify ActiveSDA management team immediately of suspected or confirmed cases of worker or tenant infection or contact with COVID-19
  • We continue to implement the Covid-Safe Plan in place for each SDA in consultation with the SIL Provider, including the placement of signage and hand sanitiser dispensers at main entry points
  • SIL Providers must ensure signage and hand sanitiser dispensers are maintained at the entry points and throughout the property as required
  • SIL staff must continue to request the completion of a declaration from workers, contractors and visitors and retain the information for a period of 28 days.

Current Care Facilities Directions are in force for restricted access to SDA in order to limit the spread of Covid-19, balancing the need to limit the spread of the virus against the wellbeing of residents.

A person must not enter, or remain on, the premises of an SDA dwelling (a) the person is a resident of the facility; or (b) the person is a worker in relation to the facility, or (c) the person is a visitor in relation to the facility.

  1. the person is required to self-isolate under the 診斷人員和親密聯繫人的方向; or
  2. the person is required to self-quarantine under the Diagnosed Persons and Close Contacts Directions; 或者

    1. 7 days immediately preceding entry if the person is fully vaccinated and is not a close contact; or
    2. 14 days immediately preceding entry if the person is not fully vaccinated or is a close contact; or
      Note: a person who has had known contact with a person who has been diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 may also be required to self-quarantine under the Diagnosed Persons and Close Contacts Directions.
  4. the person has SARS-CoV-2 Symptoms; or
  5. in the case of a visitor—the person has been tested for SARS-CoV-2, and has not yet received the results of that test.

Visitor declarations

  1. The operator of a care facility in Victoria must require visitors to declare in writing at the start of each visit, but before entering any area of the care facility that is freely accessible to residents, whether the visitor:
    1. is free of SARS-CoV-2 Symptoms; and
    2. has been in contact with a confirmed case (except in the course of their employment while wearing the appropriate level of personal protective equipment in the circumstances) in the:
      1. preceding 7 days if the person is fully vaccinated and is not a close contact; or
      2. preceding 14 days if the person is not fully vaccinated or is a close contact; and
    3. is currently required to self-isolate or self-quarantine in accordance with the 診斷人員和親密聯繫人的方向.

  1. Care facilities need to keep a record of who visit each care facility and when, and these records need to be kept for 28 days from the day of entry.
  2. Visitor records must record the following details:
    1. contact details of the person; and

    4. any other screening information.

Infection control procedures must be followed within SDA dwellings. These include:

  2. Care facilities must comply with the density restrictions that limit the number of people that can be in a shared communal space at the same time

Haven; Home, Safe and Active staff will attend SDA dwellings as required and in line with infection control and physical distancing measures as required.

Our housing team is also available via telephone and virtual communication (Zoom, Skype, Facetime etc).

The administration of SDA Residency Agreements will utilise in-person or electronic document signing to best meet the needs of the person and their family.
