Helpful information:

What happens if my income changes?

Rents are reviewed annually or whenever a tenant advises us that their income has changed.  It is your responsibility to contact your Tenancy and Property Manager and update them of any changes.

If you receive Centrelink payments, you must also advise them when there is a change in your circumstances/income.

How my rent is calculated?

The Rent Calculation Policy for our Affordable Housing properties can be found here.  Contact your Tenancy and Property Manager if you need further information about the way your rent is calculated.

Why is it important to pay my rent?

Each week, paying your rent should be your most important consideration. Ensuring that you have a roof over your head will ensure that many other areas of your life and responsibilities can be achieved. Don’t risk becoming homeless by not paying rent each fortnight.

What do I do if I have other bills to pay before my rent?

Rent and having a home is your most important priority. If you are having problems with other bills and debt please call your Tenancy Manager to see if they can assist with some short term and long term options. Do not ignore your rent, let us help you to manage your other requirements.

What will happen if I don’t pay my rent?

Not paying your fortnightly rental payment may result in you losing your home. Don’t risk homelessness, work with your tenancy manager to stay up to date with your rental payments.

Your Tenancy and Property Manager may, for some cases, be able to arrange a fair and affordable repayment plan.

If you are 14 days in arrears, haven’t reached an agreement with us or are not adhering to your payment plan,  you will be issued with a Notice to Vacate.

If you adhere to your required payments, and correct your rental debt no further action will be taken.

If you don’t comply with an agreement to pay, we will apply to VCAT for a possession order.  There is a possibility that you could be evicted.

The majority of our tenants pay their rent on time.  Don’t put your home at risk.  Contact us for help as soon as you experience difficulty paying your rent.
