So you’re moving out? You’ve packed your belongings, said your goodbyes and you’re getting ready to move on, but hold up!
The property should be left in the condition you rented it in – please refer to your incoming Property Condition Report for notes and photos.
If the property is not left in a clean and reasonable condition Haven Home Safe will apply to VCAT to retain the Bond and make an application for compensation for any other tenant related charges ie. cleaning, removal of furniture/belongings, general rubbish removal and any damages to the property.
Make sure you follow our checklist of the top ten things you need to do before you finally vacate your HHS property:
- Call cleaning services
- Remove all belongings and rubbish
- Get cleaning
- Start cleaning each room from top to bottom – including lights and cobwebs
- Clean the bathroom
- Clean the external windows
- Mow the lawns and external paths
- Put all bins out for collection
- Contact maintenance dept for any issues, mail re-direction and disconnect utilities
- Collect keys and return to HHS and sign the key return form
You’re now ready to vacate your HHS property!
