To be eligible for our Affordable Housing, you must:

  • Be a permanent resident of Australia
  • Have a gross household income of less than $107,640
  • Not own any property
  • Have less than $30,000 in assets
  • Have a connection to the area where the property is located

Haven; Home, Safe owns and manages a range of long-term affordable rental properties right across Victoria for people on low to moderate incomes and those with specific housing needs, such as people with a disability.

We work with individuals, families, support agencies, and government to meet specific housing needs.
Our rents are offered at discounted rates with tenants receiving a discount off the market rent based on their household income.

Our property portfolio includes a range of housing types and sizes from single or multi bedroom units or houses as well as studio apartments from Melbourne to Mildura including Geelong, Ballarat and Warrnambool.

We currently use a Choice Based Lettings system, instead of a waiting list, where people get to choose where they might like to live.

Allocation of properties is in accordance with household size to ensure an appropriate fit.

We also accept referrals from the Department of Health and Human Services’ public housing waiting list and encourage people to also apply to the DHS and other affordable housing options.
