If you need help finding a home because you are homeless or in housing stress our Client Care team are here to help you understand your options.

Unfortunately, there are very few social and affordable houses available in Victoria at the moment and rental vacancies are at an all time low. We are here to help you in any way we can, but it is unlikely that we will be able to provide you with a home straight away (outside of one night’s crisis accommodation).

 

We will work with you to help you find the best solution to get you on the right path to finding suitable accommodation as soon as possible.

 

Through an Initial Assessment and Planning (IAP) appointment we will learn more about you and your housing needs so we can advise what accommodation options are available.  

What to expect in an Initial Assessment and Planning (IAP) appointment  

 

During an Initial and Assessment Planning appointment we will ask you questions so we can: 

  • Learn a bit more about you. 
  • Understand your housing needs. 
  • Identify any barriers you may be experiencing. 

 

When we understand more about you, we can make better recommendations to help you meet your immediate needs.  

 

This may include: 

  • Assigning you a Case Manager.  
  • Connecting you with other services. 
  • Finding you overnight crisis accommodation.  
  • Helping you with on-off rent arears. 
  • Vouchers to help you with short-term needs such as food, petrol or public transport.  
  • Help applying for a private rental property
  • Help getting on the Victorian Housing Register
