Mildura – Financial support

The Mildura Haven Home Safe office has short term financial aid to help you meet your immediate needs in times of crisis.

The funding is provided by the Australian Government, Department of Social Services, it’s official name is ‘Financial crisis and material aid, emergency relief’, we must follow the funding guidelines as they are set out.

 

To make things easier, we refer to the funding support as ‘Emergency Relief’.

 

Emergency relief is a program that can help you if you’re going through a tough time financially and don’t have many resources to make things better. It’s designed to provide support to people who are experiencing financial distress or hardship.

After an assessment you may be eligible for emergency relief to help you with item’s such as:

 

  •              food, fuel/registration/licence renewal
  •              chemist/medical
  •              crisis accommodation
  •              rent advance/rent arrears
  •              part-payment of utility account/s
  •              food parcels or clothing

Appointments can be conducted over the phone or in person. Please bring along your identification and any supporting documents such as bills to your appointment.
