The Smythe Place Project is a newly renovated apartment complex in central Geelong for women over 45. The apartment complex features 17 self-contained studio apartments with one bedroom (not furnished).

3 of the self-contained studio apartments are modified to accommodate wheelchair access. The two story building is serviced by two stairwells with two shared laundry rooms with washing and drying facilities. Two shared kitchens with cooking facilities are also major features of the complex.

Criteria

  • Must meet the Tenant Target Group: Single women over the age of 45
  • Strictly no pets
  • Must be in receipt of a minimum $1 payment of Rental Assistance under the Commonwealth Government Scheme (CRA).
  • Must be a permanent resident of Australia
  • Must have substantial links within the area of housing sought or appropriate reason for relocation
  • Able to demonstrate that they can sustain a tenancy (allocations will be subject to satisfactory reference checks reflecting good rental history)
  • Gross household income must be less than $49,431
  • Must have less than $30,000 in realisable assets
  • Must not be listed on the title of any property or land
  • Must be listed on the Victorian Housing Register or willing to be registered prior to housing
